They will also establish new standards in the Trader Media Group’s use of images for Autotrader.co.uk, to match the company’s stated brand aspiration to be the number one choice for motorists and our offering "the World of Cars Made Easy". The picture editor will report to the web editor, digital - consumer. Key relationships * Web editor * Editorial writers * Head of creative (marketing) * Creative team etc. Key accountabilities: * Produce and agree an image strategy for the business, supported (for its delivery) by an image plan * Achieve the highest editorial standards in the use of images/video for Autotrader.co.uk to ensure maximum synergy with the written content and other visual elements of the website. A key element of which is the creation and application image standards * Source appropriate images using established picture libraries and archives, (both public and commercial), general and specialist libraries, museums and galleries, in-house and organisational resources, and through use of personal contacts and knowledge of the job * Ensure appropriate copyright clearance (and any other relevant licensing arrangements) is gained for the use of all images Key responsibilities: Image strategy * Champion images (including video and other moving images) within the web editorial team and across the business * Create an image strategy * Create and deliver an image plan aligned the image strategy Editorial standards * Create editorial standards * Collaborate with the editorial team to establish a visual brief for any project (to includes details of the image needed, the format, the target audience and the budget available) * Edit photos/videos and affix them to news stories Image sourcing * Build, maintain and manage an image resource (library) of images/video to likely (but not exclusively) include an archive of images and links to Getty, PA photos, other relevant external sources.
