Working with NGOâ€™s and Making a Difference with Photography Saturday 14th March 2009 â€“ Sunday 22nd March 2009, Kolkatta, India Every photographer wants to take great pictures that can make a difference and help make the world a better place. A workshop organized by photographic charity Changing Ideas (www.changingideas.org) and Toscana Photographic Workshops (www.tpw.it) and led by the award winning photographer Stanley Greene will give you the exciting opportunity to take pictures that can really make a difference. Taking place in Kolkata, India in March 2009, several small local NGOâ€™s have been recruited to work with participating photographers who will be assessing the NGOâ€™s needs and producing appropriate photography. The workshop will have several experts on hand to guide and help the photographers taking part. These include photographer Stanley Greene, who will draw on his wealth of experience in concerned photography to provide invaluable knowledge and support for the workshop participants. Additional support will be provided by Cheryl Newman, Picture editor of the Daily Telegraph, will be guiding photographers on creating the story. Also Alice Wynne Wilson, former Communications Director of ActionAid India. Alice will provide detailed knowledge of NGOâ€™s photographic needs and ways of working. Through this workshop photographers will gain an invaluable insight into the needs of NGOâ€™s and the types of imagery they require with the added benefit of knowing that they are providing a service that these small NGOâ€™s would otherwise be unable to afford. At the end of the workshop, each NGO will be provided with a selection of material that can be used to help them in an area of their work be that fundraising, advocacy or awareness. How expensive will this be for Indian photogs ?

We hope to have some Indian photographers attend the course for free or for very low cost. At present we do not know how many people this will be as this depends on the number of paying participants. Thanks, CJ.

I would live to attend and am working on a project for an NGO helping street kids in India...but EUR 1700 for the week - and thats without flights..bit steep for a poor NGO helper !!!

sounds great since I'm in India, but like Michael said a bit expansive ....1700. Eur I wish I had that money to spend ... good luck for the ones that can afford this
