I'll take your word for it. Mark did have a good point about the "mcmrickbrick" profile looking a little suspicious though, especially with all the funny business that's been going on lately. However, I think my suggestion about implementing a captcha word-verification requirement is still a relevant and constructive suggestion regardless, and not just blind paranoia. It would make LS more secure and could help make many LS members feel more secure, particularly members like myself whose security has been severely compromised. It´s becoming common practice to use fake and ridiculous nicknames online in order to hide real identity, which to my point of view IS a paranoic teenager behavior. Why it´s ok to someone representing either an agency, magazine, whatever, not providing a minimal info regardin who we are dealing with, then it´s also ok that we have to give all info available about us. I think that respect and professionalism must be mutual. Nobody is doing a favor. It does not matter WHO the " contractor" is. There is something wrong going around in PR and I thing we are helping A LOT by assuming it´s ok. Takes time for a few clicks and I think you shouln´t have to. Replying to the thread with accusations of it being a scam and then this being the work of a spam bot could be considered somewhat unprofessional and this is what i take offence to. Asking for some more information, on thread or PM, would be more professional. I've also being accused of calling people 'dogs' which i haven't. And i've been called a 'fool' which i may well be but none of this could be considered an reasonable response from a professional community. Cheapens the whole of LS IMO. As does this thread. Once upon a time it was a community of professionals and enthusiast who SHARED acknowledges, doubts, feelings, identity. Inflated egos were out of the game. Problems with identity and personality were far away from LS. A lot of people, who today are missed, used to CONTRIBUTE with really valuable thinking. People looking for talent showed up with real names and serious proposals. I personally hate nicknames, and I´d never ever introduce myself to anyone, professional or not, let alone looking for “talentâ€*, contributors, whatever not using my real name. We are responsible adults, and we must be treated as ones ( Just a thought.). To me respect is to be treated as equal, it does not matter who is on the other side of the chain, and I wouldn’t submit my work (Doesn’t matter if it’s crap or its good) with all info available to anyone who does not provide the minimal info regarding who I’m dealing with.
