"Throughout the universe", "all media, now known or hereafter devised". Ha! Man, what do these guys smoke? (100 Dollar notes, moste likely) There must be a way to counter this stuff. But in a way I think this is a version of an old battle. Many years ago I worked a summer at Magnum, and it seems to me that one thing some of the photographers (I seem to recall Paul Fusco saying something on this topic) often brought up was that Magnum partly came into existence to give the photographers control over their work, and over their copyright. Perhaps freelancers need a new sort of arrangement, perhaps in the form of large associations that can retain legal help to create contracts to represent our point of view. At least then we could have "our" people talk to "their" people using the same language. The current situation of individual photographers trying to deal with increasingly large corporations just places individual contributers at too much of a disadvantage.
