Room Share in Manali for the Foundry Master-class

Hi,

I'm heading to Manali on the 26th July for the Foundry workshops. I am looking for someone to share a room with, thought it would be great to keep the cost down and also meet new people.

If you are interested please let me know and we could look into booking accommodation.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks, Helen

Re: Room Share in Manali for the Foundry Master-class

Hi Guys,

Looking forward to meeting you.

I think sharing would be great, there is also another girl, Stacie who is interested so perhaps the 4 of us could share a cottage or hotel dependent on cost.

Oscar, When will you be in Bombay? I will be there from the 17th as I am pitching some work to some magazines and catching up with friends. I am going to Delhi probably on the 22nd or 23rd and then up to Manali. Let me know what your plans are perhaps we could travel together.

Guys let me know what you think and then we can get something booked. If anyone has time to fine some accommodation that would be great as I am snowed under at the moment!!

Thanks, speak soon,
H.

dragon guest house in old manali is pretty nice http://www.tripconnect.com/tripconnect/HotelReview.do?hotelID=TC000172&locationID=IN0023

i recommend that you stay a little away from new manali, perhaps in old manali or somewhere in between as the new town gets extremely crowded and congested

once you're in manali definitely eat the himalayan trout at johnson's cafe

Hi all,

I would love to share a room with you guys! I did a search for the dragon guest house and it seems to get great reviews. I like the idea of being a little away from the hustle and bustle. I wasn't able to find out how much it is tho. Does anyone know? I'm down for other suggestions too.

Cheers!

Re: Room Share in Manali for the Foundry Master-class

as far as i remember it is a little more expensive than the others... about 500-700 rupees (10-14us $) but i guess it may vary according to the season. the rooms were quite large, double beds, big bathrooms and there was a little apple orchard in the premise. you should find enough hotels there for around 200 rupees or so in the area.

Ok, so they got back to me. They said they have a family suite which has four beds for rs. 3200 and the double rooms are rs. 1200. Seems a bit expensive. If anyone wants me to I can try and strike a deal with them since we are staying an entire week. Otherwise I'm down to try for a different place..

Let me know.

Yeh that does seem alot. That is the same price as Mumbai and that is the most expensive place in India! I think we should look for something cheaper. There are so many hotels in Manali, lets grab a bargain! x

Re: Room Share in Manali for the Foundry Master-class

Hey all,

I just got this from a guy named Martyn who is already in Manali.

Also if anyone is interested I have been staying at a place called the Tourist Hotel (ask for Circuit House Road but rickshaw guys will know it I should think) [phone: 01902-253562 or email: touristmanali@gmail.com] for a few days - a very unimaginative name for a really good place run by great people. Clean/hot water/good food/nice outlook, gardens etc. Its a bit less than halfway between Manali (New) where you arrive and old Manali up the hill. This might be convenient for a few days if you want to wander around town before being based up further up the hill. All options though are ok here - it's a lovely town with mountains and forest 360 degrees.

I am paying 500 rupees for a big room with dble bed and balcony and own bathroom, tv etc. This is about average price in manali but worth it for good place. Many places for 400 are not such good value. If there are a couple/few of you sure you could prob barter over room.

Just thought I would throw it out there. I'm going to be arriving in Manali on the 24th. Has anyone booked a room yet? Just curious where we are at at this point. I'm leaving for Delhi tonight and will be traveling for the next two days so I wont' be able to do much until I land. See you all very soon!

Hey all,

I've arrived in Manali and got a room with 2 other peeps at the Victory Resort. It's just up the road from the Green Cottages and is an awesome place! We may have an extra spot available. We are staying in the family suite so we can fit a 4th person. The price with 4 people is 350 RPS per night. It's a steal cuz their double rooms are 850 and they have no singles. We are waiting to hear back from one person who might take it but it's more than likely they won't take it. PM or e-mail me if you're interested. Thanks!
