After a four-year break in 2003, the bi-monthly magazine re-launched in 2007 with a fresh, contemporary take on North-South relations. One of the five aims of The Courier is to give more space to artists coming from the ACP countries: we believe artists can provide an extraordinary contribution to the understanding of local contexts, through artworks that capture the richness and complexity of the world. 
With the ‘ACP Courier Photo Competition’, The Courier aims to increase the visibility of young photographers and encourage the use of photography as a tool to reflect on, and describe, the societies and world around us. The themes of the competition relate to African, Caribbean and Pacific countries with a focus on development, trade, climate change, culture and science and technology. This competition is open to photographers, from an ACP country, under the age of 30. A prize of €1000 will be awarded to the best photograph. The winner will be selected by an international jury of professionals in the field of photography. Events and exhibitions will also be held in Brussels on the occasion of the ‘2010 ACP Courier Photo Competition’ prize ceremony.
