Slides from Digital files

Not a tech question exactly: anyone know of a cheap alternative to Duggal for makiing transparencies from digital files? Duggal is charging $12.50 a slide, a bit pricey but then I have never done this before and perhaps that is considered a reasonable price.

try "www.slides.com":url. I believe it is $ 2.00 per slide for the first of a particular image, and declining price based on quantity. I've not used them myself, but I have seen the output, and it looks great.

I have used www.imagers.com several times and it has worked out good. Upload to the imagers ftp and they mail you the slides.

I believe you can do it yourself at the ICP in their digital lab, if you're in NY. They used to have the digi-to-slide thingie. Give them a call, though.

DIdnt think of the ICP alternative! It has been so long since I had any meaningful contact with them, it didnt enter my mind. But that is certainly a good option. Thanks Johan.

Hi all:

Fairly new member here & just going through the discussions board.

I haven't used these folks yet, but plan to soon:

"first three free - Visual Horizons":http://visualhorizons.com/InformationFiles/tryusfreeImaging.html

Seems they're running a special for the first three slides free. Might be worth a trial run.

Cheers,
D

Here at the publishing house where I work, we use a local (NYC, USA) shop called jellybean. It's something like $20US minimum. You'll need to call or e-mail them for specifics (warning: their web site is very very lo-frills and has no pricing info).
