Canadian Expedition

My name is Gwen, and I am a photographer.

I am organizing a trip around Canada with the help of a charity, and am looking for journalists, writers, photographers and film crew to come along! It is an expedition/tour that requires fundraising on your own, but gives a lot of freedom of movement.

We will be taking the most economical mode of transport, and will be staying with hosts, not hotels. However, what you plan to do with your own time is up to you once we arrive at destination. I will be handling most of the logistics and accommodation, which includes partnerships with the local community.

I am embarking on a mission to document every province in Canada, showcasing the unique local communities, Canadian businesses and isolated wonders of nature that only the locals know. I love Canada, and I feel that more people, both Canadians and those living abroad, should know and appreciate the fact that Canada is not just Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax and Vancouver. There are so many unexplored areas of this beautiful land, sometimes just hours out of a major city.

If you would like to be involved in my project, thats awesome. I need all the help I can get. I am just a photographer and I am not a writer or a filmmaker. It would be amazing to have a solid team for every expedition. But if you want to do your own thing, thats cool too.

The reason I am putting out this invite is because I reckon the more the merrier, it keeps costs down, and there are a lot of talented people out there who could help film or write or edit all the information that can be produced.

One lightstalker expedition has already been carried out in Nova Scotia, Cape Breton. With the help of a local dean and some fellow photogs, we headed out at before the crack of dawn on the first day of winter. There is nothing like the feeling of photographing the sun being birthed over cliffs covered with this season's first fall, outlooking the Atlantic ocean.

It would be great to see you guys come for the rest of the journey!

Please email me at gbrydson@gmail.com for more info and to sign up.

cheers,
