All subjects, aesthetic approaches, and lengths are welcomed. POV selects between 14 and 16 films annually through a rigorous review process involving independent media professionals, public television station programmers, and PBS. POV works with the selected filmmakers to craft a strategic broadcast plan—including but not limited to a national press campaign; outreach and educational activities in partnership with public television stations, educators, and community-based organizations; and a stand-alone website—to provide the best possible springboard for each film. Completion funding may be available for unfinished films. All submissions must arrive by 6 pm, Thursday, June 30, 2011. Please note: This is an arrival deadline, not a postmark deadline.
