http://www.lightstalkers.org/image-ingest-question An entire Lightstalkers thread via RSS/XML. en-us so i always liked using the mac osx image capture feature to ingest my cards because it would peg a little thumbnail to the raw files, so i could search them without dropping every folder in photomechanic. i recently upgraded to tiger, but it seems they left this little feature out, it isn't in the preferences. and isnt tiger supposed to be able to "see" your raw files anyway? it is driving me nuts. anyone know how to turn it on, or another program or method to download your cards that will give you a little thumbnail? it sounds dumb, i have been made fun of for this, but it really helps me out. thanks. In the little window that appears you can select show preview (or something like that, I work in dutch). In the top of that same window you can also choose if you want this option turned on for just the selected folder (window) or for all folders. The thumbnail-icons should be visible now. It is possible that image capture doesn't include these thumbnail icons. Use photomechanic to ingest your files. At the same time you can caption, rename, set the resolution to 300 dpi and a thumbnail-icon is included. Image capture has the nasty habit not to copy the images loss-less, especially if you rotate images during the ingest.
