The subject will be in NYC and they want me to shoot him with a NYC backgrop. The Univ is not in NYC. I was thinking anywhere from $400-700. What do you typically charge for these type of assignments. Should I vary the price based on usage(alumni contact just stated it would be printed in one of their publications) or just give them a base price? Thanks. I would say 300 bones if its fast and clean (journo style, where you go in with two bodies, and some speed lights) and maybe 450 if you are dragging sticks with lights into it.
