Hi Lisa. I am in Buenos Aires, Argentine, there were two dead cause the climate effect. I guess that will have a lot of this cause the wrong things humans did before. Lot of hail and rain. I only want that common people don't suffer much of the habitual thing. Here and in NYC. All the best

By the way. The difference about NY and Buenos Aires, BA, is that in the first case they announce the problems several days before. In Argentine will be commented the effect of a storm several days after.

Yes Hernan what has happened in the South America is awful and yes we are dealing with climate change and the effects of... I have interviewed several scientists over the years who are all in denial but something is happening... I can see the differences in the environment clearly where I am in the bush.. and yet Australia keeps selling uranium to the rest of the world and look New York maybe in a pickle cos of its nuclear plant... The climate will be our last global war...

I think you will receive the stories at last cause there are a lot of inconveniences and the fact that some areas don't have electricity don't help.

It's been pretty tough out where I am. Have not been to check on my storage yet (negatives, gear, backup drives),as telephone poles and wires are down everywhere, but they are starting to clear it all up. I am at a Starbucks (has generator, coffee, and internet, and is nearly standing room only) near my Sister's house , which has no power, no water, and is currently heated only by a wood fireplace. Welcome to the 18th century! Ha, ha. Actually, the biggest problems here is the availability of gasoline, so I'm driving around with 4 five gallon cans in my jeep, picking it up wherever I can. It's all O.K. for me really, I'm kind of enjoying the whole thing, but then nobody I know has been seriously hurt. Not everyone has been so lucky. Thanks for the good wishes, though. (For those of you who know American Television, though, there has been a silver lining, (the house where they filmed the show "Jersey Shore" has apparently washed out to sea. Let's hope the cast is with it, and becomes marooned on some desert island somewhere).

Actually, I had a good time. I didn't have to take a bath for four days, my mother couldn't call and complain that I never visit her and, most importantly, I had the good luck of ordering and receiving two cases of wine on the Saturday before the electricity went out.

Barry - visit your mother. 'Just don't forget to take a bottle of wine, a cork screw and two glasses. (The two glasses are actually for YOU. That way you always have a glass in reserve.)

My lights flickered twice; that's the extent of my storm damage. Irene was a worse storm for those of us north of the city.

New York...I remember when I was there in 1990...On a family holiday...I was 14 years old...after shopping for all-stars shoes there was a black guy doing push ups on the side walk. That was something totally unseen in Europe at that time...maybe in a park...not on the side of the road. That scene only carved itself deep in my memory. I have no real memories of Disneyworld later on in Florida but that guy on that corner in NY...yes!

Later on (few years ago) I made friends here in KTM with people from NY and they laughed so hard when I told them that only memory I have from NY...they told me that was normal stuff in 1990.
