Olof, through other journalists in Turkey get a guide you can trust. Other journo's have fallen into extreme al-qaeda fighters hands and been taken prisoner. Be very careful.

Seham--The private messaging on LS does not work and your profile does not have contact info---I am clear on why you most likely do not want to put out a phone or email---but you'll have to work it out if you want to be contacted.

I am not going to Syria at this time and only helping out so you are clear when no one contacts you.

Good luck and stay safe,

today at 21-Nov-2012 Syria: Dutch journalist wounded
`The Dutch press photographer Marielle van Uitert is Friday in Syria when a mortar attack slightly injured. Her companion, the journalist Irene Zwaan, remained unharmed. The freelancers were traveling to Aleppo to prepare reports on the war in Syria. Friday exploded after a demonstration a mortar shell, close to the spot where they stood. There were ten deaths. Van Uitert got shrapnel and rubble into her leg, says Zwaan. The two are back in the Netherlands. With Van Uitert doing well, says Swan.
like lambs to the slaughter.

folks, many reputable journalists have been in and out. do your job and get in contact with them.

if you haven't heard of problems with people running into trouble trying to cross you don't want to be there as you are CLEARLY not prepared.

whomever 'maged' is. if you want to discuss my comments feel free to do so here vs. email

i stand by what i said. journalists need to do their job and that involves using the head god gave them. as Robert, Randbild and Ryan gave pointed out.

mind the gap indeed

'you are nothing because you gave nothing.İ am ready and you are not.İ thing this is the difference
you feel sad for lost journalist .Journalists lost everywhere
Syria .Idleb.Jeser al shoghour'

these are the mails i have been receiving from your so called 'fixers' people. again, as has been mentioned... be very careful about who you hire. do your research, talk to people who have been in and out and be a professional. the email is correct, i will always be concerned and regret the lost of journalists anywhere.

Just be mindful when you are out there, respect the people... Some journalist have been stomping their feet around and being bossy with the locals!

You're life is in the hands of the FSA, fixer etc... Just listen to them and don't push them!!!

John, I'm sorry you have to receive emails like that... I'm not really sure if I got their point but I just wonder what these "fixers" would say if all the journalists would say "People lost everywhere" and do their stories based on that idea? Or wouldn't go there at all?
