Nikon 1 V1

Hi,

Anyone using the Nikon 1 V1 for any serious purpose? I can't help but think that the speed, size and the light weight is a major bonus for any photojournalists out there or street togs. I know the image quality although good, it is not brilliant. Just want to gather some thoughts and impressions, since the price has dropped dramatically, you can get a V1 with 10-30 lens for £249.99 and a twin lens kit, 10-30 plus pancake 10mm f2.8 for an extra £100.

What do you guys think?

To be honest, I have yet to see a V1 in person. And now, I hear the V2 is coming out. Hear great things about the AF speed though.

Yes, the AF is fast, there are a few things that are not that good, namely sensor size and all that that entails and lack of certain controls, but nevertheless the image quality is not bad at all. I wondered that, if there were any photojournalist or documentary photographers that use it or are giving thought to using it, because I think you can't get a smaller package than that with such speed plus very good video mode too.
I have been considering it since I found myself at times wanting or needing to be lighter while out shooting. The other thing is the lens range is still very limited, but you got a 10mm f2.8 pancake, a 10-30mm f3.5 zoom and a 10-100 VR lens which I can't remember the apertures. The 10-100 could cover a lot of ground. So I am interested in opinions if anyone has them about this camera.
