The quick function buttons also look good. As long as the battery life is ok & presuming the images are good (why not) then it's very tempting. Although battery live hasn't been mentioned, & as some of you are getting great results with the original 100 I'm still undecided weather to wait & spend that extra on the S. Are any of you existing owners of the original x100 who are already getting great shots planning to get the new 100s? Just the other day was sitting on my friends roof up in Sop Ruak in the Golden Triangle watching sun rise over the Mekong while sipping coffee. Suddenly saw about 300 monks walking in the distance. Grabbed my X100 and ran downstairs. Followed them for 18 km pilgrimage walk shooting pictures as they walked next to the river. Having only the one camera and lens made things simple and could concentrate on making images within limitations of that one camera. My point is use the camera you have and learn it like the back of your hand and don't get caught up in buying every new product that comes out when the old one is just fine. All the gear in the world isn't going to make you a better photographer. It's in your head, your heart and your eye. I've used it almost daily since May 2010 and have learnt some if not all its foibles and eccentricities. No plans to buy an X100S as I am more than satisfied, overjoyed even, with the beautiful photographs this small camera is capable of producing. Despite the firmware upgrade, the AF is not terrible but I won't change camera every six month and totally agree with Christopher; learn your material and develop your skills. David Duchemin said once "There is no unsuck filter in software" I would add, there is no unsuck gears too. Didn't get the X100 at the time because of those same issues... If the 'rumours' are true, then it might be a very good upgrade path... I'm sill using my old Nikon D100 (with grip). 6+ mgpxls is just enough for me, but the camera is slow, & a bit awkward, screen is very small, but with the good glass I'm happy with my results. I've used it for aviation (of course), at violent demos while in BKK, at some friends weddings for them & other things for friends & everyones happy. I bought a Canon G11 to have a small camera that had manual control. I don't think I would trade up to a 100s, but as I haven't got one yet it seems a tad illogical not to get the latest model, not thinking it would take better pictures but if the improvements do eliminate frustrations, then I may enjoy the experience even more.
