6 Hours in Hong Kong?

yo.

Looking for suggestions....I have a semi-long layover in Hong Kong, from like 9pm to 4am, and want to know if it is feasible to train in to the city to check it out and shoot? And where a good bite to eat might be had? With not much time and never having been there I am looking for the bright lights big city part of it all, the heart of it all.

Thanks.

Keep in mind the Airport Express train stops running (both to and from the airport) around 1a.m. Cost is HK$100 - about US$13. If the airline is taking care of your bags for the connecting flight, you should have plenty of time. I've made it from stepping off the plane, to Central via the Airport Express, in about an hour. That's with only carry on bags, and short lines at immigration. The ride from the airport to Central is about half an hour and the trains come every ten minutes. It's very convenient. The ticket machines are close to the train platform and there's even a money exchange booth right there. If you miss the last train back to the airport, a taxi back is about HK$350 - about US$45 - and takes about an hour.

The last stop on the Airport Express is on HK Island and is a transfer station with the MTR Central Station. Just follow the signs to the MTR trains and you can head to many other places. Otherwise, you can exit at the Central station. lt may be what you are looking for. It's close to many bars and restaurants as well as skyscrapers and the financial district. It has the bright lights big city feel to it.
