It's hard to guess what this means for users of their products; personally I'll be watching for news about Macromedia's server products (Cold Fusion, Flex, etc). Separately I'm hoping that this means an eventual end to the Flash vs. SVG or PDF vs. FlashPaper competition. Any initial reactions here? Adobe's long tried to position itself as the company for content providers. It seems to me that this will allow them to strengthen that angle. I'm still waiting for the day when they corner the Quark market and get all those unhappy Quark users over to InDesign. I think Adobe will focus on further streamlining the production process by blurring some of the lines between content programs and web authoring programs, so you can go from one to the other more seamlessly.
