      <title>Oscar Barnack</title>
      <description>Photos must *vividly express man*s relationship to his environment* in a photo story of no more than 12 images.  Project must have been completed the year before the year of the contest.
Either 35mm slides or 8 x 10 prints.
*Leica Camera AG is again sponsoring an international photographic competition for the Oskar Barnack Prize in the year 2005. The international jury gives the award to the photographer whose sure powers of observation most vividly express man's relationship to his environment in a photo series consisting of up to 12 pictures. 

This very coveted international award for outstanding, high-quality reportage photography has been sponsored as part of Leica Cultural Projects since 1979, the year of the 100th anniversary of Oskar Barnack*s birthday. The prize is awarded in cooperation with the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in Arles, France. 

 Closing date is 31st January 2005.

Entry forms can be ordered at the national Leica agency or directly at the Leica Camera AG, Solms, Germany. They are also available to download as PDF-files (EN) (FRZ).*
