CHICAGO: For a better coverage of violent events

Arab print and broadcast journalists are encouraged to apply for a seminar organized by the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma from 11 to 15 November in Chicago, USA.

Six or more expense-paid fellowships are available for this four-day seminar focusing on how to report responsibly and credibly on violence and other traumatic events such as crime, family violence, natural disasters and accidents, war and genocide.

Fellows will attend a two-day seminar on the role emotional trauma plays in coverage of violent events, then will have access to all events and speakers in the annual conference of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (http://www.istss.org).

Interested candidates must be mid-career reporters. The deadline to apply is 30 July.
