Finn was born in London, England and raised in Inglewood, Ontario. He was introduced to the world of photography at young age by his father, a former employee at Kodak. Finn was often given different types of cameras and film to experiment with as a child. He also cites his photography teacher from high school, Mr. Francisco, to be one of his greatest influences.
After studying English Literature at Bishop’s University in Quebec, Finn moved to Toronto where he eventually made the transition back to photography. Whether his subjects are landscapes, portraits or objects, Finn is renowned for his quietly arresting photographs. His work is often described as clean and graphic, and hints at his past work experience as a graphic designer.
