Flights to Kabul

Anybody fly to Kabul for a reasonable price in the last little while? Trying to book a flight there for an assignment seems to be rather difficult. Will be departing from Moscow. I know that there are direct flights from Dubai, but everything comes up Moscow – Dubai – Delhi – Kabul, or Moscow – Delhi – Shanghai (!!) – Kabul or some crazy concoction for lots of $$$$$.

Any pointers here?

i think the best rates with KAM and Ariana, perhaps the only “real” tickets even, are those you book in person in Dubai or Delhi. I’d say fly to either one of those cities, go into the office for a paper ticket there, and you’ll save yourself a lot of money. Travel Agents be damned…..

I had the same problem. Sadly its either from Dubai or Dehli. Ariana supposedly flies to all the Central Asian countries and Iran and Turkey but Its not a regukar service if it exists at all. Air India from Dehli to kabul is not that expensive.

Don,

I flew on Azal airlines through Baku and that price wasn’t that bad. It doesn’t look like they have the flights advertised on their website but give them a call anyway.

In fact you can probably fly Kiev-Baku-Kabul if they’re still running the flights.

Donald if you do have to go via Dubai I would strongly advise you ask someone in Kabul to purchase your ticket for you direct from Kam Air.
I booked with Kam Air online and got shunted on to Pamir Air. Well it’s on a wing and a Pamirprayer. I ended up dumping the RTN portion and purchased a new ticket with KamAir.

Good luck either way.

Hey man,
I always have flown via Dubai on KamAir. Reserve the ticket a couple days in advance via email, kamairdubai@hotmail.com and hopefully you can avoid the PamirAir trap. Try to pay in dollars…I got kind of fucked when I paid in euros. Prices are higher than quoted on their website…i paid 350 euros for a roundtrip a few weeks ago….

Hi, had a flight in february from Istanbul to Kabul with Ariana. I think it was one of the cheapest options …
