It seems to me that the threat of the loss of net neutrality would hurt everyone who is not rich and powerful, and cause serious damage to what is open and democratic in our society.

Here’s what i’ve sent to my senators:
“I hope you realize how important a free and open internet is to sustain a vital and vibrant society.

The low voter turnout in this country is a symptom of serious malaise, feelings of powerlessness, and distrust of the honesty of our government. A free and open internet heals and helps strengthen individual citizens and our social contract. To allow this great gift to to be compromised by the lobbying efforts of powerful corporations who think only of immediate profit, no matter how detrimental the long term social costs, would be a grave disservice to the American people, and to the world.

I hope our lawmakers will think of the well being of the people, and not cheaply sell off our birthright.”
