FLAVIO FORNER was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He graduated in Architecture and has been working as a freelance photojournalist since 2000. From 1993 to 1998, he spent many years as a student observing ways of living and walking around different cities. Interested in working on storytelling documentaries and focusing on contemporary global issues, he participated on many long-term projects questioning social, environmental and cultural elements. As a photojournalist, he believes in the importance of language and storytelling: he wants to be close to people and be able to engage with them, to have access to their lives and way of seeing the world around them. After all, a person with a good story to tell can easily become a good friend.
Forner is a freelance documentary photographer, with exclusive material distribution through media and alternative distribution channels. He is a self-sufficient loner who likes to document issues that are sometimes overshadowed by those mainstream media.
Forner collaborated or had photos published in the Folha de São Paulo, O Estado de S. Paulo, O Globo, BBC, Rolling Stone.
Forner is currently available for photography and multimedia work.
