Frido Claudino (1981) works with documentary photography in Brazil. With academic background, arising from his studies in sociology, its production is marked by great questions about the status of photography and the classic tradition of humanist thought.
In the double exercise to build photos like photographer and deconstruct them as a thinker, he shares the same nuisance of those who doubt the photography as a mere record of the real. His restlessness is apparent in the form of a authoral gaze that does not strive to expand the boundaries of the document so that the photograph is not only the mirror of nature, but rather a tool to forge new looks, becoming thus as a key for interpreting the world.
Thus appears in its production, which he calls “photography of the difference.” A look deeply marked by a kind of humanism that is not looking for a universal dimension of the human condition, but on the contrary, bet on the recognition of multiple opportunities to exercise the self. A kind of photograph that is seeking the seizure of the senses that guide human beings, their lifestyles and culture. Always make sure that these elements are able to render great photographs.
