Gabrielle studied photography in Miami and at the Spéos Paris Photographic Institute. She obtained her Bachelors degree in psychology & motion picture studies with a minor in photography from the University of Miami in 1997. Returning to New York City, she began working with photographers Annie Leibovitz and Marc Baptiste and as a film-maker, editing and shooting videos for Ani Di Franco, Utah Philips, Ravi Shankar, Dido and Talvin Singh.
Leaving America in 2000, Gabrielle traveled extensively in Europe and further developed her photography and her language skills. She eventually settled in London in 2001. Gabrielle is based in east London and has completed portrait projects about the changing face of community in Hackney, as well as a project about a family who raise honeybees on their rooftop in Hackney.
Other projects include an award winning documentary on the sidelines of the Rio Carnival, and a portraiture project on the Gypsy community who make the pilgrimage to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in Camargue, France each year.
Gabrielle works on self-directed projects as well as commissions. She is actively involved in photographing for the London Improvisation acting scene and works in portraiture and PR, often in the area of music and performance. She also does private commissions of families, couples, and children. Her limited-edition prints are collected worldwide.
