I studied photography in Miami and at the Spéos Paris Photographic Institute. I obtained my Bachelors degree in psychology & motion picture studies with a minor in photography from the University of Miami in 1997. Returning to New York City, I began working with photographers Annie Leibovitz and Marc Baptiste and as a film-maker, editing and shooting videos for Ani Di Franco, Utah Philips, Ravi Shankar, Dido and Talvin Singh.
Leaving America in 2000, I traveled extensively in Europe and further developed photography and my language skills. I settled in London in 2001. I am based in east London and have completed portrait projects about the changing face of community in Hackney, as well as a project about a family who raise honeybees on their rooftop in Hackney.
Other projects include an award winning documentary on the sidelines of the Rio Carnival, and a portraiture project on the Gypsy community who make the pilgrimage to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in Camargue, France each year.
I work on self-directed projects as well as commissions. I am actively involved in photographing for the London Improvisation acting scene and works in portraiture and PR, often in the area of music and performance. My limited-edition prints are collected worldwide.
