galleries and photo events in Beijing

Hi,
I am going to visit Beijing in August . It’s my first time to visit there.
I work for a Japanese magazine. Mag’s editor wants to run an article about photo events and galleries in Beijing. so, He asked me if I can find popular and famous galleries or photo events there during the summer.
Please tell me if you know anything.

There is a large industrial area of many city blocks called “Beijing 798”, if you Google it or look it up in travel guides you will learn how to get there. It is not central Beijing…may be a bit outside on the way to one of the airports. In Beijing 798 you will find all kinds of art and photography galleries. Some galleries are ran by Europeans and almost everyone speak English. Give it a whole day to visit the area. There are many nice cafes to eat and drink there. R
