About
Selvaprakash (born 1978) in Tirunelveli, India, received his Masters in Communication from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in India. He Selvaprakash photography focuses on a wide range of social, political and economic issues such as the struggles of seasonal migrant workers, child labourers, AIDS sufferers and their families, Sri Lankan refugees, mine workers and Nepalese circus performers. In 2007, he participated in Angkor Photography Festival free workshops and won the Paris Match Award for best emerging Asian photographer with his work on AIDS sufferers and their families in Cambodia and Won the India Press Photo Award-2008. He was the Grant Prix Winner at the MAN AND SEA Photography Competition at the II International Festival of Photography Photovisa in Krasnodar, Russia 2010, and his works were displayed at the San Francisco Art Commission Gallery. He is now working as Photographer for TIMEOUT,Bangalore.
