Selvaprakash (born 1978) in Tirunelveli, India, received his Masters in Communication from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in India. He
started his photography career as a staff photographer for Dinamalar, a leading Indian daily newspaper and he later worked as the chief photographer for the Dinakaran Tamil Daily.

Selvaprakash photography focuses on a wide range of social, political and economic issues such as the struggles of seasonal migrant workers, child labourers, AIDS sufferers and their families, Sri Lankan refugees, mine workers and Nepalese circus performers.

In 2007, he participated in Angkor Photography Festival free workshops and won the Paris Match Award for best emerging Asian photographer with his work on AIDS sufferers and their families in Cambodia and Won the India Press Photo Award-2008.
He participated and exhibited in PourIInstant 15th Young Visual Artist Residency Programme in Niort-France and his works exhibited in 2008 World photojournalsim festival(China TOPS),Singapore International Photo Festival-2008(SIPF),Noorderlicht Photo festival 2011,Lagos Photofestival 2011,Delhi Photofestival 2011 and Photovisa 2011.

He was the Grant Prix Winner at the MAN AND SEA Photography Competition at the II International Festival of Photography Photovisa in Krasnodar, Russia 2010, and his works were displayed at the San Francisco Art Commission Gallery.
He won the Robert Bosch Art Grant 2009-2010, and recently bagged the NFI National Media fellowship 2011-2012

He is now working as Photographer for TIMEOUT,Bangalore. His photographs have been published in Asian Geo,New internationalist,Paris Match, and other leading newspapers and magazines across India.
