Born in Norway, underwent an apprenticeship in commercial photography, moved to London, England, studied graphic design at Central St. Martins. Worked as an art director for a Vietnamese food magazine in Ho Chi Minh City before setting up studio madsmonsen for both commercial and editorial assignments.
