Fashion Photojournalism 2

My basic fields are glamor, fashion, and photojournalism. In this business you have to be diverse. Times change and you have to change with it to be taken seriously. I immerse myself into these three because the photographs in these genre’s have to tell a story of some type. In my glamor photography, which I shoot primarily in b&w you will see more than just a beautiful face. You will see the art behind the face in the photograph which will speak to you. Fashion photography consists of various moods and taste. I have to make the photograph appealing to the viewer. I like to add some type of visual romanticism. Photographing the “run way†is a little different, I want the photographs to burst off the print to the point where you can see and feel yourself, or someone you know wearing the garments. Photojournalism has to tell a story from beginning to end. The whole concept is that the story and photograph has to compliment each other. You know by looking at the photograph, a person would say, “Oh, so thats what happenedâ€, or “Wow look at thatâ€. I photograph first and write the words later. Because when I look at the photographs and find the right ones, outside of research material, the words to the story just come together. To be a photographer sometimes you have to be the outside person to get the answers you need. You must develop your own way of expression. In my opinion, this is one way to know if you are satisfied and your work is complete.
