Amazonia

This is a series from when I lived with 4 different indigenous Shuar and Quichua communities in Pastaza, Ecuador. It is a documentary piece about how the tribal people of the Amazon live today, how they still maintain ancient living traditions whilst being affected by the modern world. Some of the villages are volunteer and ecotourism stations. The communities in this area see this as an alternative income to felling trees, farming cash crops or selling land to the gold mining and oil companies, who are threatening the whole of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
