Stefanos Kouratzis is of Greek origin (born in Athens, Greece in 1975) and he lives is in the Republic of Cyprus since 2000.

Photojournalist – Reporter since 1994, worked for several Newspapers, Magazines and News Agencies in Greece, Cyprus and abroad. Photos and articles and have been published in domestic and foreign print media.

His work can also be found in the books, “GAZA, Land Under Shadows” Médecins du Monde – Chypre, (Cyprus, 2002) Fujifilm Euro Press Awards, (Edition Braus, 2002), in the House of Representatives of Cyprus and in private collections.

Member of IFJ (International Federation of Journalists) and of “Union of Cyprus Journalists”.

Active Member of “Médecins du Monde – Chypre/ Yiatroi Tou Kosmou – Kypros” since 2001 and has participated in humanitarian missions abroad.

Covered major stories in conflict/crisis zones (Lebanon War Summer 2006, Gaza Strip, Iran, Bam City earthquake) and during the “Operation Iraqi Freedom” was on a mission onboard of a USS aircraft carrier. Has travelled in various countries to cover stories and editorials (China, United Arab Emirates, Belgium, France and Cuba).

In 2002 awarded the Fujifilm Euro Press Awards 2002 (categories “News” and “Features”). The same year also awarded as the Fujifilm Euro Press Awards 2002, “National Winner” and represented Cyprus to the finals of this contest. In 2004 awarded the Fujifilm Euro Press Awards 2004 (categories “Nature and “Technique”) in Cyprus. In 2007 won the 1st prize of Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO), Pancyprian Photography Competition 2006-2007, Category “Gastronomy of Cyprus”

Studied at “Focus” School of Art Photography (Athens, Greece), and specialised on Photo-journalism, Digital Image Processing, Studio and Fine Printing. Since then, attended various seminars in Cyprus and abroad organized by the European Council, European Journalism Centre, Cyprus College and the Union of Cyprus Journalists.

Participated into group photojournalism exhibitions in Italy, Cyprus, Germany and Spain
