Bashkortostan

Lying on the Southern Ural Mountains with Tatarstan to the West, the Autonomous Republic of Bashkortostan has a wealth of cultural, natural and historical treasures. At the moment it is one of the Russian Federation's richest and most stable regions due to the refining of oil, minerals, chemicals, manufactured goods and agriculture. It reminds one of a civilised version of Mongolia with European influences.

Andrew’s photography covers photojournalism, corporate, travel and wedding photography.
He works regularly for clients such as Bloomberg News, UNESCO, OECD, Nokia, HSBC and Globus Weekly.
His work has been published in many newspapers, books and
magazines around the world including the International Herald Tribune, The Independent on Sunday, Insight Guides, Time, MSNBC, Frankfurter Allgemeine and Le Parisien.

In 2002 his photo of a paralysed man and his wife in Bangladesh
won first prize in a World Health Organisation competition on Health and
Disability.

In 2004 he was invited by the Republic of Bashkortostan’s UNESCO delegation to make a photoreportage of the Republic.

He lives in Paris, France and is represented by WpN and Photoshot.
