New Harlem? Abandoned School Becomes Condo(A work in progress.) P.S. 90 was abandoned for 30 years. Graffiti artist James Topp worked with community members to paint a mural on the school depicting important figures in black history, memorials to locals, and celebrations of the neighborhood. The mural was updated annually until recently, when a developer began to convert the school into luxury condominiums. Images by Alice Proujansky
