RomeriaEvery August, the Catholics of Costa Rica travel from all corners of the country to kneel before the Patron Saint, the Virgen de Los Angeles, to thank her for the blessings of the previous year, ask a favor or request a miracle. Many drive, but traditionally the faithful walk from their homes. In 2005, Ronald and Laura made the trip for the first time from their home in Florencia de San Carlos, 65 miles from Cartago and the Basilica.
