Like many others, for me Asia has long been a source of inspiration, artistically and culturally. However, the inspiration comes and goes and the love affair is off just as often as it’s on. A change of scenery might help. Laos, I’ve heard, with a population of around 6 million and categorized by the UN as one of the world’s poorest nations, is now listed as the third largest importer in Asia of Prado SUVs. Prados apparently cost around $60-70,000 each. Who comes first and second? China and the country where they’re made: Japan. Tells you something about the place and the prevailing culture. But the sunsets can still be beautiful – maybe even inspiring.
