Across the Wire

This collection of images was born out of a curiosity to discover more about my Chinese heritage. This led me to staying in a factory in Shilong, Guangdong Province, China. Aside from reconnecting with my Chinese side, I gained an insight into the human presence behind our mass produced everyday products.

About

Anthony Wallace is a documentary photographer based between London and Hong Kong. He recently graduated with a MA in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism from LCC, London.

His work has been published by the South China Morning Post, The Guardian, Independent, Creative Week, Plan B Magazine and Cosmopolitan. His photographs have been exhibited in London, Brighton, Glasgow and Hong Kong.

Anthony spent 2007 based in Hong Kong where he was a full time photographer and lighting assistant at Red Dog Studio. He also oversaw contributions for Galleri Magazine.

His "Sealed Up’ series on vacated flats in the Heygate Estate in Elephant and Castle was exhibited at The Cumming Museum, London, from December ’08 until end of April ’09 and is published in the book “Community”.

‘Sealed Up’ was exhibited at The Photographers Gallery in London as part of Fresh Faced & Wild Eyed 2009.
