Natalie Ayala is a freelance photographer, based in Ecuador and France.
Her photos have appeared in National Geographic, Air France Magazine, GÉO, La Vie, VSD, Libération, El Telegrafo, El Universo, Hoy, Terra Incognita, and EFE. The story of Baltazar Uschka Tenesaca, the last Hielero of the Chimborazo, the highest moutain in Ecuador, was shown during the evening screenings of the 19th International Festival of Photojournalism “Visa Pour l’Image” 2007, in Perpignan, France and during the Paris Slideluck Potswhow in 2010. The same story was exhibited at “Le Festival du Scoop et du Journalisme” 2007, in Anger, France, at the City Museum of Riobamba, Ecuador in 2008, at Spéos Gallery, in Paris, France in 2010.
This story, is part of her personal long term project focused on culture and the traditionnal knowledge of indigenous people in Ecuador.
