Samir Karahoda born in 1977 Prizren-Kosova.
Since 1992 he works as a Photographer. He graduated from University of Mimar Sinan, Faculty of Fine Arts â€“ Department of Photography in Istanbul . At the moment he lives and works in Prishtina (Kosova) as a Freelance Photographer and Cinematographer.From October 2007 he cover stories from Kosovo and Region for Photography agency “Narphotos” based in Istanbul.
For two years he lectured in Institute of Photography and Film â€œGjon Miliâ€ and in school of film â€œCharlie Chaplinâ€ in Prishtina.
He’s Programmer of Short Film Programme in International Documentary and Short Film Festival"Dokufest",Prizren.
Since 2000 he participated in almost all collective Photography exhibitions in Kosova and he had four personal exhibitions in Kosova and abroad.
â€œPostwarâ€(2003) the work was concentrated on missing persons family portraits ,protests and several postwar ceremonies. â€œPostwarâ€ was exhibited in Istanbul â€œ AkSanatâ€ gallery.
â€œRurbanâ€ (2005), the work as a main target had a social life and diference between Rural and Urban life in Kosova. The work was exhibited in Kosova National Art Gallery an in Taksim Art Gallery in Istanbul.
In February 2008,he published his first book and exhibition of Photography with feature project about Kosovo Rails “TRAIN” .
The Train project was a 2 year work which was concentrated on Damaged and Forgotten Kosovo rails.
In december 2008 he participated in Cinematography Workshops held in Lodz,Poland by ASC cinematographers and Oscar winners like:Roger Deakins,Dante Spinotti and Tom Stern.
As a freelancer he’s working also in different video productions like:light designer;cinematographer and still photographer.
