Teatro Indígena de la Sierra Tarahumara

I have documented the Indigenous Theater of the Sierra Tarahumarasince it began eight years ago. It is an integral part of CONTEC´s informal education program directed mostly for adults, and meets the special needs of young people. It has given young people the chance to speak their mind independently of their elders and has been instrumental in building their confidence and strengthening their leadership and creative skills. CONTEC is a Mexican NGO that works at the ground level in several communities throughout the vast Sierra Tarahumara.
