Rusyns in Ukraine

Ukraine / Karpatskie/ 03.2009 / Life in a small Village Karpatskie in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains. The highlanders who live there identify themselves as Ukrainians but also as Rusyns or Boikos.

Jan Brykczyński, 30, a freelance photographer based in Warsaw, Poland.
Graduated from Photography faculty at National Film School in Lodz. He regularly contributes to Polish magazines Polityka and Przekroj and he is distributed worldwide by Anzenberger Agency.
Jan is interested in the process of social transformations that Eastern Europe has been experiencing, and his work focuses on issues of youth and immigration in the region.
He is a founding partner of Sputnik Photos, the International Association of Photojournalists.
