New York City

UPDATE: Just moved back to Australia. I grew up in Perth, Western Australia. It’s a small town, but officially the capital city of the state. Most people knew who you were and who you were related to. I moved to London when I was 24: to a larger city in a different country where no-one knew me. I loved the anonymity and from there, seduced by this anonymity, I have lived in many different countries. I currently reside in Tribeca in New York City. My background and education is in visual communication and art history. I am not a photographer, more an observer. I work in a large advertising agency where I am surrounded by incredibly talented and crazy people constantly in search of the perfect campaign: creative, effective and groundbreaking. When I am not working, I wander though the streets, observing, looking for patterns and seeking to document the chaos of how we, as humans, live in our self constructed hostile urban environments. I wander the streets alone. No-one is asking for anything. It is a rare and peaceful time, where you are able to interact with people and elements that I would not normally. It’s either that, or the fact that I just really want to see what stuff looks like as a photograph.
