The Last Wall

Carlo Bevilacqua is a photographer and filmmaker born in Palermo, Sicily in 1961. His career has spanned more than twenty years, alternating photography and direction of documentaries and video clips.
He has created photography spreads, advertising campaigns, videos and films for magazines and major Italian and international companies.
A few highlights of his career include Quotidiani (Palermo 1983), Giardini Immaginari (Palermo 1984) and Indian Stills (Milan 2007- Biennal oF Photography 2008 Brescia Italy – Boutographies 2009 Montpellier – Roma Fotografia Festival 2009), and his participation in group shows including Nuovi Soggetti a Rischio (Siracusa 1985), Obiettivo Soggettivo – Fotocontaminazioni sull’arte africana (Milan 1994) and A Different Robin Hood (Turin 2000).
He has directed numerous pieces including, in collaboration with Francesco Di Loreto, Little Red Robin Hood – a biographic documentary about Robert Wyatt, Soft Machine’s singer and drummer, with Elvis Costello, Brian Eno, Phil Manzanera and Nick Mason – Moira Orfei Amore e Fiori, a colorful Pop depiction of the queen of circus, and numerous video clips for various Italian artists such as Cristina Donà, Marco Parente and Antonella Ruggiero, taking part in a several film festival as Merano Film Festival 1999 , MedFestival Arcipelago 2000, In-Edit di Madrid e Barcellona, BiografilmFestival, Med Film Fest 2006, MIFF 2006, Hai Visto Mai 2007 Siena, Immaginaria Film Festival 2006,Roma Doc Fest 2006, Festival di Palazzo Venezia Roma 2006,Arcipelago 2006, Pordenone Cinemazero 2007

Some of his last work include the book In Italia, a black and white photographic journey through eleven italian towns published by Federico Motta Editore with a Mario Botta text and a Milano Expo 2015 nomination video and documentary about Big Sister, a Prague Live Internet Brothel based on the work of the Czech photographer Hana Jakrlova.
