born in Innsbruck/Austria in 1969 is a professional freelance photographer.
After breaking off High School earlier than his parents were happy about he spent several years within the local Punk – scene and found his first job as a screen printer at an atelier for poster- and fine art prints.
A one year travel through India and Nepal followed and after coming back Gerald began a career as social worker with people suffering from HIV and drug addicts. During his time as social worker he discovered his passion for documentary photography and after spending almost 20 years with socially disadvantaged people he recognized that it is time to follow his dream to become a professional photographer. So he did a master’s degree in photography (just to strengthen what he already learned through private studies) and is now setting up his business as a freelance photographer.
Gerald’s work is mainly focussed on photojournalism and social photography but he also loves to shoot fashion, weddings, landscapes, panoramas, architecture and HDRI (High dynamic Range Images).
