Marcel Mettelsiefen started with photography 1999. After his first steps with Ap in Israel during the 2nd Intifada he returned to Germany, where he joined the german press agency. He covered numerous national and international events and news. 2003 he covered for epa the aftermath of the Iraq war. 2004 the clashes in Haiti. Since 2008 he is working freelance for different magazines and agencies including Stern, Geo, NYT, Getty Images …

Since 1999 he is working with the german magazine Zenith-Zeitschrift für den Orient. Zenith is the only german Magazine aboutthe Arab and Islamic world. He is head of the picture desk. www.zenithonline.de

Since 2004 Marcel Mettelsiefen is studying Medicine at the Medicine faculty Charite in Berlin. He will be done with his studies likely in 2011.
