Mud Flow Disaster

A disastrous "mud volcano" triggered by Lapindo when the company was exploring for gas in East Java shows no sign of calming down after forcing some 15,000 people from their homes. The so-called volcano has been spewing mud for more than a year, inundating 600 hectares (1,500 acres) of land and leaving victims furious at the slow pace of compensation from the gas drilling company accused of causing the disaster.
