Last days of the village

Jakub Sliwa is a freelance photographer born in Krakow, Poland. A graduate of Oriental Philology at Jagiellonian University in Krakow and Film School in Lodz. He is mostly interested in documentary photography focused on human condition in contemporary world. His photographs have been published in numerous national and international magazines and books. Jakub works for major Polish publishing houses and advertising agencies. He has presented his pictures on several festivals of photography (Fotofestival Lodz, Kaunas Photo Days, Festival of the Photograph in Charlottesville). His work is exhibited worldwide. In 2006 he won Second Prize in the BZWBK Press Foto Contest. Jury Member in European Photo Competition “Breaking Stereotypes”. Honorable Mention in Prix de la Photographie, Paris “Human Condition” 2008.
