About

Fernando Mendes is a freelance photographer. He was born in Mozambique in 1954. In 1974 he moved to Portugal were he completed his studies in economics.
His work is mainly documentary and travel photography. Actually he is documenting both the Hindu, Sikh and Islamic communities of Portugal. He also covers concerts and festivals.
He attended workshops at the Portuguese Institute of Photography, Portuguese Association of Photography and “Atelier de Imagem”, with Sergey Maximishin, Russian photographer twice winner of the World Press Photo contest.
His works has been published on EDT/Lonely Planet Travel Catalogue, EDT/Lonely Planet Calendar (Torino/Italy), portuguese magazine “Paintball”, “Público” newspaper and K! Live Experiences.
