About
Pratik has recently earned a master’s degree in Convergent Journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia, India. He specializes in photojournalism. Photography gives him a unique opportunity to combine artistic expressiveness with journalistic sense. His curious and socially conscious nature has driven him to capture long term, narrative stories. Out in the everyday chaos of life, Pratik’s stories get inspired by society’s multitudinous of character. His ongoing photo series, Lost Landscapes, explores the rhythm and contradictions of life in modern India. As a photojournalist and documentary photographer, his stories aim at creating lasting images. Pratik’s previous project, A homborn illegal, was based in New Delhi. He photographed life of a 14-year-old illegal Bangladeshi immigrant, Noor Alam. The boy got separated from his family last year after he escaped a police raid. His family members faced deportation. Without disclosing Noor’s identity, the photo story forays into his ideas of home, state and ‘life in a limbo’. Presently, Pratik is travelling along the Indian coast for his ongoing project. He is available for assignments worldwide. Pratik Kumar 's current location:New Delhi , India Play slideshow → |
