Boat Schools in Bangladesh

Tadej Znidarcic is a Uganda-based photographer. He was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he received a university degree in physics. He is a graduate of the International Center of Photography in New York City, where he was the recipient of the George and Joyce Moss Scholarship for Photojournalism. In addition to being a photographer, Tadej is also a writer and videographer.

Tadej received a 2007–2008 Global Fund for Children/International Center of Photography Fellowship, which took him to India, Bangladesh, and Romania to document the impact of local nonprofits on their communities. He has photographed polio victims in Nigeria, maternal health issues in Uganda, and schools on boats in Bangladesh. He has documented the Nollywood film industry in Nigeria, little league baseball in Uganda and worked with various nonprofit organizations in the field of health, education, women’s rights and agriculture (UNICEF, UNFPA, UNAIDS, Rotary International, AMREF, CARE, Syngenta Foundation, Women for Women International).

Tadej is a contributing photographer for Redux Pictures and has published in magazines, newspapers, and other publications in Africa, Europe, and the United States, including The New York Times, The Guardian, Conde Nast Traveler, Economist, The Times, The Independent on Sunday, Le Monde, D Magazine, FAZ, Die Zeit, The Observer, IL Magazine, The Africa Report, Io Donna and National Geographic Slovenia. His work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in Europe and the United States, among others Moving Walls in New York City.
