Edwine Seymour is a foremost photojournalist. His long-term commitment to photograph is native country, Haiti, has yielded important images from the perspective of a native. Born in the North of Haiti, Cap-Haitien, he took photography at an early age. Moved to NYC at the age of 19 he studied photography at Parsons School of Design in NYC. His photographs from 99-2002 regularly appeared in the sunday New York Times, The New York Dailynews, The NY Post,, NY Newsday, The Village Voice.
A recipient of NYFA 1998 (New York Foundation for the Arts) Marty Foster fellowship 1999, Enfoco New Works Award 2000.
Seymour has exhibited at the Bronx Museum. and several galleries worldwide. His image provoke more questions than specific answers in their beguiling and intriguing response to his subjects. His work distinguish form what is more traditional documentary photography.
